In 1912 a drought in Paraguana ended with the crops, animals and the majority of its inhabitants. People from the farthest hamlets began to migrate to Coro. The journey was life challenging , they walked thirsty and hungry over arid areas under the hot sun. Many did not survive the journey. Others didn't even dare to leave their homes. In Guasare was where the vast majority of peasants died.
