Kabool Hai is set against the backdrop of the concept of 'contract marriages' (Mutah Al Nikah). Set in an Indian metropolitan, we meet Ruslaan, a young & handsome Shia man and Shabana, an innocent & beautiful Shia woman. The attraction is palpable the moment they walk past each other in a crowded street. Ruslaan then approaches Shabana's mother for hand in marriage and following the traditional way of marriage, she doesn't meet her husband till she is legally married to him. As she waits for him in bed to consummate the marriage, a man walks in and behind him, she sees Ruslaan looking at her and shutting the door. The realisation dawns upon her that she has been sold into marriage by Ruslaan - a suspicion that is confirmed when you see Ruslaan paying Shabana's mother. We see Shabana give up her body and detach herself from her situation - still madly in love with Ruslaan. Soon, we see her go through multiple contract marriages, yet, thinking of Ruslaan every time a new man is on top of her. Because now, her body is just a commodity which she is willing to trade - because now the only question is, for how much more?
