Biroho Byatha (1989)

Nogendranath, landlord of Govindapur, meets Kundanandini while visiting his sister. Kunda's father dies and Nogendra takes her to his sister's house. He writes a letter to his wife Surjamukhi and she asks to take her home. Surjamukhi marries off Kunda to her adoptive brother Taracharan. Taracharan's friend Debendra becomes obsessed with her beauty. Taracharan dies after few days and Debebdra starts teasing Kunda. Kunda writes a letter to Surjamukhi to take her. But Debendra starts going there as singer Haridasi. When this comes to the attention of Surjamukhi, she scolds her and Kunda wants to commit suicide. Nogendra saves her but Surjamukhi leaves the house. Nogendra sends his man to find her but nobody finds her. He decides to marry Kunda but it stops as Surjamukhi comes back. Nogendra starts ignoring Kunda and she commits suicide by drinking poison.
