Vipere (2015)

"Vipere" is a noir comedy about an atypical friendship between three girls: the leading Eva, the submissive Grace, the extravagant stutterer Annalisa. The girls decide to make a robbery in Grace's aunt house, but something unexpected happens and they are faced with a surreal circumstance. The short movie emulates the amospheres of the 90sCoen brothers' movies, in particular "The Great Lebowski", and of the 80s comedies by Almodovar, such as "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown", in its colourful approach and the choice of mainly female characters. In terms of subject and screenplay the short movie mainly takes inspiration from the "Zanardi" comics by Andrea Pazienza, but switching in here to a female point of view. "Vipere" wants to express a sense of inadequateness, of frustrated ambitions. The three girls dare without an outcome, with the silence of their consciousness. The tone combines both tragic and light elements, but the overall atmosphere remains lively and energetic, almost punk, as the credits track "Troia" by the Fast Animals and Slow Kids remarks.
