A historical paradise locked in the foothills of the Bahia coast is invaded by hippies in the 1970s. Traditions and cultural habits of a religious people, were hidden for 400 years since the foundation of his village by the Jesuits, were thus put at risk by this new discovery, that was made by a group of hippies. Which years later led to attract tourists from all over the World. The symbols and traditions that little huddle of fishermen and farmers had everything to vanish. But something happened. The historic bubble, in fact, was broken, but the culture remained. Despite the approach to the contemporary World, Trancoso truly saved their habits centenarians, as the festive celebrations of indigenous, African and Catholic-Portuguese origin. The parties and local stories are narrative and poetic center of gravity of the film. Resistance, overlapping, complacency. The historical process that led Trancoso to your circumstances is it all in one time. The documentary takes us to meet the feast of St. Sebastian, the epicenter of this story. 'Cordel' is actually a key to open the locked place and perhaps to lock up so many gaping, where modernity wins effortlessly memory.
