L'ombre du fou (1988)

Jeanne and Raphaelle, two little Parisians, aged 7 and 8 respectively, are spending carefree holidays with their young and dynamic "granny", Jacqueline. This sweet summer stay, in the wild and magnificent valley of the Vienne, will however be disturbed.... Fleeing from a psychiatric establishment, hunted by a pack of humans in white coats, a still young man will find refuge in the property by Jacqueline... The spoiled children will quickly make a new friend... While he was locked up for obsessional neurosis, the shadow of the madman will be fed, dressed, pampered, loved by these two little mother hens, and will live a pure, simple love story, a sincere story, a story where there were once children and the shadow of a faith.
