The Virgin Intervention (2017)

The Virgin Intervention is an online comedy series. Valerie Hudson is a 23-year-old woman living in Sydney. She is a lovable oddball who is well and truly stuck in her comfort zone. She's a talented illustrator who, by day, designs graphics for a poker machine company - a job she hates in an industry she despises. For many years, she has secretly dramatized her life by sketching her bold, brave alter ego. When she reveals to her friends that she is still a virgin, they mount an intervention convinced she needs their help to get laid. Valerie insists it isn't a big deal, but to everyone else it's a hurdle to getting on with life that has to be fixed. Each episode features animated segments based on Val's own illustrations. They bring to life her thoughts, memories and imagination, providing an insight into her inner hopes and insecurities. The Virgin Intervention uncovers some of the core themes young women are exploring including around friendship, work, sexuality, self-doubt and self-discovery.
