Darcie is an average young woman, making her way home in usual fashion when she encounters some imposing lads blocking her path. When the boys notice her, they immediately start heckling and catcalling, in a sly and voyeuristic manner. Initially, she lowers her head and puts in her headphones, nervously and in an attempt to avoid all contact. The film goes on to explore the internal thoughts and feelings that so many women experience when confronted by overt male oppression. It deals with issues from catcalling to gender roles within society, highlighting not only the way that women are treated but also how they are viewed as inferior, even on a subconscious level. The climax of the film is reached when Darcie gains the courage to confront the group of lads, displaying her in a light that exudes confidence and power. From this sequence of events, the film ultimately aims to explore the objectification and discrimination of women from all walks of life, which is focalised through the voice of one bold and unapologetic individual.
