'Trópicos Gelados' ('Icy Tropics') is a full-length documentary that tells Brazil's history in the antarctic continent, from its first expeditions to the 'Comandante Ferraz' antarctic station, its tragic fire in February 25, 2012 and its ongoing reconstruction. Besides from retelling Brazil's adventurous antarctic history, through exclusive facts and testimonials, 'Icy Tropics' sheds new light on the process of how Brazilians, used to a warm and tropical environment, culturally and psychologically adapt to the cold and harsh weather of Antarctica, while reinforcing the country's strategical influence in its neighbouring icy continent's future.
