Twenty-Two (2017)

A year to forget and a night to remember. 22, a visual poem created and narrated by Natalie Aji, following the aftermath of an abusive relationship of a young couple. A girl struggles to leave a decomposing relationship, she finally makes her sweet escape when her boyfriend decides to be unfaithful to her the night of his 22nd birthday. She takes this as her final warning sign to leave for good, starting a fresh beginning overseas. The film follows her healing progression and emotions as the months pass her by, with all communications cut from him. She starts learning to identify herself all over again while also experiencing the stages of a toxic loss in her life. She grew into the person who she is now, finally learning the lesson she will carry with her forever. Learning to forgive a person - nevertheless thank the one who hurt you most in life is one of the toughest deeds to do. However, she realizes this is the bravest move she has to execute in order to gain herself back. You cannot save anyone; you can only save yourself.
