The Witch of Portobello: Nabil Chapter by Paulo Coelho (2008)

This short film recounts a chapter of the novel "The Witch Of Portobello" by Paulo Coelho, published in 2007. The film tells the story of the relationship between Athena (the Witch) and Nabil Alaihi (the Calligrapher). Athena is a young Romanian woman who travels to Arabia with her young son Viorel. She is introduced to Nabil, a Bedouin who lives alone in the desert and practices Arabic calligraphy. She asks Nabil to teach her his art and he, with misgivings, agrees. Later Athena's hidden agenda emerges, with disastrous consequences .
