Kathputli colony. A residential community in the heart of New Delhi. It's such a piece of land where music, puppetry, acrobatics, carpentry and a lot of other art forms meet and create magic. Since more than five decades artists from different states of India have come here, met, exchanged vibes, formed art together and created a comfort zone to live together for the sake of survival of their artistry. In the process of urbanization, in 2010 Delhi Development Authority decided to reconstruct this whole area by replacing this traditional space into commercial and residential buildings. These 2800 families of Kathputli have been asked to shift to the transit camps for five years and are offered separate apartments in future. However, most of these artisan families are refusing as they know their tradition, culture and art will be demolished in this process of urbanization that leads to isolation. As soon as they get aware of this fact a voice of protest raised.
