Family Recipe (2006)

Ned is preparing a turkey dinner for his family. His family members are seated around the nicely set dining room table, chatting. Ned furiously arranges flowers around a plate, to make everything prettier. As the family continues to chat, Lydia stands up to see what is taking him so long. She knocks on the kitchen door asking, "Ned, is the turkey almost ready?" Keri tells her to leave him alone, as the family continues to chat; toasting their wine glasses. Ned then enters the dining room, carrying something, his back to us. As he goes to place the turkey down in front of his family, it is suddenly revealed that the turkey is in fact a plate of dirt and worms. Suddenly it is also revealed that his family members are actually crudely pieced together dolls, made from garbage and kitchen utensils; painted portraits sit in place of each of their heads. Ned turns to his dolls, and begins to scoop up piles of dirt for each of them. Happily, he sits down himself, taking a large bite out of a chunk of dirt .
