Two Holocaust survivors - Vera and Ilona - share harrowing stories of their experiences in Nazi concentration camps. Surrounded by death and inhumane conditions, they miraculously survived only to have their lives threatened again during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. They managed to escape and went on to live successful lives in Canada. Frannie's Austrian parents survived the Holocaust, but their PTSD had a devastating impact on their seven children. Concealing their Judaism and fearing a Holocaust would happen in Canada, the family became fractured. As part of her healing from the intergenerational trauma, Frannie turned her pain into art - writing a play, a book and a screenplay. These are compelling real-life stories underlined by strength, determination, love and healing.
