The Velada gathers international artists in Maracaibo, Venezuela, to bring their art into ordinary private houses. It transforms the whole housing area into a colorful art festival for thousands of people. The film documents one of Venezuela's biggest festivals of contemporary art, which the Hamburg based artist Clemencia Labín launched more than a decade ago in her native town Maracaibo. With lots of charm, bite and endurance she managed to convince all the neighbors around the Santa Lucia church to open up their houses to hundreds of artists and tens of thousands of visitors.
