Ryan, a creatively driven teen with dreams of photographing the Pacific Coast, has his photo bucket list destroyed when discovering a rare eye disease that is soon to leave him blind. While spiraling into a depressed state, Ally surprises him with plane tickets to embark on a final adventure to see the places he dreamed, while he still can. With camera in hand, they set off across the country to the beautiful beaches, redwood trees, sand dune deserts and city skylines of the west coast, but Ryan's vision progressively gets worse. His frustration peaks when he's unable to photograph the scenic cove he most looked forward to, and he angrily wards off Allys attempts to help. Upon returning home his blindness solidifies and he becomes lost and completely stripped of his creative identity. Ultimately, Ally reveals she brought a recording device on their trip and documented their memories through the sounds. Ryan listens through hearing the waves, woods, winds and laughs of their adventure and learns there are other mediums to express himself with. He takes his new inspiration to a piano and feels the keys, then presses, and kick starts a new creative identity.
