Umi no muribushi (1988)

The setting is the southern island of Okinawa in Japan. The story revolves around the fisherman who inhabit the island. The poorer families have for generations sent their male children to the fishermen to live and work for years at a time. In exchange, the children live and eat. Nagah is one such boy. He works hard and suffers.
