When night falls in the city, a cat wakes up in a small peaceful apartment. He slept all day at the window, and now he starts his daily work: to wash a bowl, make coffee and - compose a song. Hearing the movement in the house, the boy wakes up and with pleasure joins the cat. Together they drink coffee and look for rhymes for poems. Merry company would have stayed like this all night, if they had not been disturbed. First, the boy's surprised parents appear in the kitchen, and then the neighbors with the district police officer. It turns out that at night you need to sleep, and not to compose poetry, for this there is a whole day.
