Shimmer Women Athletes Volume 17 (2008)

Volume 17 is a mixed bag. The first five matches are nothing to really write home about. (Shark Girl, seriously? ) Starting with the David and Goliath story of Ariel vs. Amazing Kong, the show really picks up. Wesna's debut against Mercedes and Sarah Stock vs. Lacey are both good outings, but the main event is a turning point in SHIMMER history: Cheerleader Melissa and MsChif vs. The Dangerous Angels. All four women were huge faces, but as this extraordinary match unfolded you could feel--tangibly feel the crowd choosing who they wanted to control the future of the company. By cheering Melissa and Chif and booing Del Rey and Danger, they changed the course of SHIMMER in a single night. Even without that psychology, the match was marvelous. If I had to choose one match to introduce somebody to the company with, this would be it. Find it on ClickWrestle and experience it for yourself. 7/10.
