Flashback to Andrew at six years old, sleeps on a bus commute to an unknown destination. As he wakes up, his mother brings him to an orphanage. He panics and cries, meaning he would have to start a new life without her and the mother breaks down in tears. 17 years later, Andrew is a young aspiring boxer. He prepares for his biggest fight but despite his motivation and training, he lacks focus. Late to his training, Andrew's coach reprimands him and questions his will to win. His coach advises Andrew that there are no easy fights in life and his biological mother needs his fighting will. Andrew returns home, his foster mother speaks to him. She admits she's worried about his fight. Comforted by her concern he smiles but stresses how important this fight is to him. Andrew's foster mother apologizes for keeping his adoption a secret for most of his life. She expresses her fear of him leaving the family but Andrew reassures her he will never leave and shows nothing but gratitude for providing him a healthy life, education and family. It's the 10th round of the fight, odds are against him, punch combinations are thrown until Andrew gets knoced down by a hook. Nearly beaten, he finds the motivation to get up and win the fight. After his fight, Andrew visits his biological mother in the hospital. As he sits by her side and see's that she's non-responsive, he's emotional and rather expressing his hatred, he thanks her for abandoning him so he could live a better life.
