The Buddy Holly Story (1978)

Lots of kissing between Buddy Holly and Maria/Cindy.

Buddy begins to have sex with a woman in a car, but they are interrupted (mildly graphic).

Buddy and Maria begin to have sex, then the scene changes.

References to dating, pregnancy, and a woman's body.

Several men are in a car, and it is implied that they are masturbating.

Some shoving and shouting.

Some intense arguments.

A reference to Buddy Holly's death.

Buddy is accidentally smacked in the face and has a tooth knocked out.

Men rip a wall apart in search of a cricket.

Repeated strong use of shit, damn, hell, son of a bitch, and bastard. Goddamn is used (goddamn cricket)

N*gger and negro are used a few times.

One implied use of "fuck" (in a hand gesture).

Buddy flips off his neighbors through a window (played for laughs).

Alcohol is drunk constantly, and people get drunk a few times.

Cigarettes are smoked.

References to drunkenness.

Although we do not see the plane scene where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, although we see it during La Bamba (1987). The final scene where Buddy Holly sings his song at the winter party and says "see you next year" and the film ends with dialogue saying Buddy Holly died in a plane crash along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. Some viewers will find this sad and think about it.

Some scenes are very emotionally intense.
