One-Trick Pony (1980)

Two male characters exchange dialogue while one is taking a bath. The other man remarks as he glances into the water, "That's it, huh?" The bathing man replies, "I am, after all, a Caucasian." Nothing below the waist is shown.

A man and a woman take a bath together in a two-minute-long scene. Her bare breasts are clearly visible and it is implied that the characters had intercourse before this scene. Nothing below the waist is shown, the characters are at opposite ends of the bath, and the dialogue exchanged is platonic.

Immediately following the brief sex scene, the man and woman lie in bed while he touches and kisses her arm and they exchange some flirtatious sexual dialogue but nothing too explicit. When she gets up from bed, her breast can be very briefly seen from the side before she puts on her nightgown.

An older, married woman entices an intoxicated man to a hotel room, suggesting they "make some use of it." He takes her by the waist, pulling her close until she is pinning him against the wall. Then, together they sit on the end of the bed, fully clothed. The scene cuts here, implying intercourse but nothing is shown.

In one scene, there is a large suggestive photograph on a wall. It is of a woman's stomach and thighs, lying on her side with her dress lifted up to reveal her panties. It is very prominently featured in the background of most of the shots of this scene, lasting less than two minutes.

One character recalls an instance when he and his partner were "doing it" on the kitchen table and their baby sitter walked in on them. They explain that he hid behind the refrigerator while she sat there "bare-assed." This is a merely a dialogue exchange and nothing is shown.

There are several confidently promiscuous characters in this film, with one character having both a one night stand and an affair in the film. It is implied that infidelity is a casual and common occurrence for these characters, done without regret or consequence.

A 36-year-old character who is shown earlier to have a one-night-stand with a young woman is asked, "What are you so afraid of anyway? Young girls won't like you when you're on the road?" He avoids the question.

There is a brief sex scene, roughly a minute long, firstly of a man and woman kissing. They stand over a bed and the man touches the woman's breast under her nightgown. They are then briefly shown in bed for around twenty seconds. We see his bare shoulders and back as he is on top of the woman while she embraces him. Music plays over this scene, it is dimly lit, and nothing is shown.

Though there are infrequent verbal threats of violence, there is no physical violence or gore in this film.

Profanity is used in this film with several uses of the word "fuck" or "fucking," usually in reference to intercourse. Other expletives such as "shit," "son of a bitch," "Christ," "goddamn," and "ass," are used throughout the film and by various characters. The degree to which profanity is used is realistic and not excessive.

A character gets drunk on red wine at a party. His actions are notably impulsive while under the influence, insulting one of his business connections. He goes to the bar to acquire more wine following this incident, which he receives before being asked to leave the party before he "does any more harm."

The majority of characters smoke throughout the film, both tobacco cigarettes and marijuana joints, including one character rolling what is presumed to be a joint. One song in the film contains the line "I stepped outside to smoke myself a "J." A character tells a story about how someone sold him some "blow" backstage. Characters argue over "dope bills."

Two half-empty glasses of white wine can be seen behind two characters who are implied to have just had sexual intercourse.

In response to a crisis, a character is seen in a bar finishing off a mug of beer, looking hopeless.

There are arguments throughout the film, some of which are fairly intense with shouting, swearing, and the hitting of objects.

There are two instances of characters crying in the film following distressing scenarios, both of which could be considered upsetting.

Divorce and adultery are heavy themes in this film which some may find upsetting.
