Impulse (1984)

A woman has a bath - no nudity seen. From here, she gives her boyfriend a massage. He gets up from the bed and his naked bottom is seen.

A man urinates on a car. Nothing is seen.

A woman offscreen, attempts to kill herself by shooting herself in the head

A man asks a woman to dance. The boyfriend intervenes and pushes him over. The man, in a bizarre act of revenge, deliberately breaks two of his own fingers.

A man drives a car at two people on a bridge

At the start of the film, a mother rings her daughter and then unleashes a range of abusive insults of a sexual nature

There is a bar scene. Numerous people seen drinking, smoking as expected.

A man lights a cigarette at the dining table. He then puts it out in the food.

A woman gets trapped in a garage. Petrol is poured in and it is set on fire.

A woman drives through a town that is rioting. Shouts, screams and gunshots are heard. Buildings are on fire. People are running in all directions. Bullets hit the car.

The film has an eerie atmosphere to it, which is hammered in further by the dreary musical score. The slow burn of having to watch as the town falls apart is maintained throughout the runtime with little room for comfort.
