The captain of the Soviet tanker Caspian on the open sea receives an SOS signal - the German steamer Gammonia is in distress. A small ship filled with aviation gasoline goes to the aid of a steamship engulfed in fire. Soviet sailors, risking themselves, save the passengers of the Gammonia. This happened on the night of June 22, 1941.
