Poison (1991)

The film interweaves three stories that openly explore homosexuality, focusing on marginalized individuals who face various forms of interpersonal and social violence. "Hero" delves into the bond between a boy and his father; "Terror" is a science fiction tale about an experiment related to human sexuality; and "Homo" tells the story of two men reuniting in a prison. Inspired by the novels of Jean Genet, Poison, Todd Haynes' first feature film, marked the beginning of a new wave in queer cinema.
