Ghost in the Shell (1995)

In the cyberpunk future of 20XX, in Niihama City, the Public Security Section 9, led by Major Motoko Kusanagi, is in charge of investigating a case of a mysterious hacker known as the "Puppet Master", whose victims are stripped of their memories. As the case becomes more complicated and the answers become scarcer, Kusanagi begins to wonder if she will find them directly with the hacker. A critically acclaimed classic, the film is based on the manga of the same name, but differs drastically in plot and tone.
