Lorcha: Na Rota do Sol Nascente (1988)

A lorcha is a 26 meters long ship, designed by the Portuguese in the 16th century, combining the principles of Chinese and European ship building, and it was used to transport people and merchandise between Macao and the other Portuguese out-posts in the East. One such ship was specially built in Macao in 1988, and named "Macau", and traveled from Macao to Tanageshima - 15 days with several intermediate ports, using the same instruments of Old, to commemorate the first day Europeans arrived and make friends with the Japanese people.
