Cure (1997)

A series of grisly murders spreads across Tokyo, each marked by an "X" carved into the victims’ flesh. The killers, all found near the crime scenes, confess but remember nothing. Detective Takabe, troubled by his wife's declining mental health, teams up with a psychologist to uncover the truth. As Takabe delves deeper, he finds himself spiraling into the same darkness that surrounds the inexplicable killings.
