The First Degree (1923)

A woman who refuses a suitor's marriage proposal is sexually assaulted by that man when he grabs and kisses her against her will. Another man comes along and defends her honor.

A man is grabbed, forced aboard a freight car, and ordered out of town by a group of men. Two men have a violent fistfight, overturning furniture, and breaking windows. Then, one man collapses and left for dead by his combatant.

A man is hounded throughout his life by his stepbrother in a vendetta over losing the woman he loved to him. Every time he gets a little taste of success, his stepbrother is there to ruin it, as he has vowed.
