Svarte Rudolf (1928)

The film begins as a parody of the sheikh-movies of the time, in department store owner Rudolf Carlsson's dream, who now wakes up to the less romantic reality in Östköping. It turns out that Rudolf is crazy about movies and wannabee film star and producer. With the help of an instructor in the art of filming, he practices love scenes with the department store mannequins. At the sports club's annual ball, a gentleman in drag appears. Rudolf sees an unusually attractive woman whom he offers a role in the bootleg-drama he is creating. During the following balloon dance, the "lady" drops her wig and the embarrassing mistake is discovered. Before that, however, two shady gentlemen have been listening to Rudolf boasting. They make Rudolf and offer to produce his bootleg-drama and in addition choices him for the main role in the movie. In fact, the two gentlemen Baransky and Schultze are skilled smugglers planning to conduct their criminal activities in the coverture of a film production.
