The Best Years of Our Lives (1946)

An intense melodrama about three former World War II combatants who return to their hometown and find it difficult to resume their lives. Each of them differs from their social status, with different work and marriage problems, in addition to the aftermath of the war. They return to a world that feels strange to them, but which is ultimately a kaleidoscope of experiences common to many of their own.
