Stromboli (1950)

Karin, a displaced Lithuanian, marries Italian fisherman Antonio to escape a prison camp. They journey to Stromboli, the volcanic island where Antonio resides, and is faced with the harsh realities of the fishing village. Alienated by the barren landscape and traditional locals, Karin's despair grows. Facing abuse and confinement, she resolves to flee, seeking freedom and a new beginning amidst the island's unforgiving terrain.
