The Trouble with Harry (1955)

In a small Vermont town, the discovery of Harry Worp’s body sets off a chain of confusion and secrecy. Captain Albert Wiles believes he accidentally shot Harry while hunting, while others—his ex-wife Jennifer Rogers, spinster Ivy Gravely, and artist Sam Marlowe—have their own reasons for fearing involvement. Together, they try to hide the body, fearing the attention of the ever present Deputy.
