Donatella (1956)

Jobless stenography student Donatella finds a handbag crammed with vital documents and returns it to its rightful owner: a wealthy American lady living in a palatial mansion in Rome. Touched by the young woman's honesty, the madame hires Donatella as her secretary to manage the correspondence and the lady's villa during her six-week absence in New York for business. As charming Donatella tastes a hearty slice of the good life, a chance encounter with handsome Maurizio, an elegant friend of the lady, leads to an innocent relationship right under the nose of her fiancé Guido. And little by little, admiration turns into affection; nevertheless, a lie is a lie. What happens if Maurizio finds out Donatella's guilty secret?
