La Notte (1961)

Giovanni Pontano and his elegant wife Lidia go through an emotionally turbulent day in Milan. Visiting their dying friend Tommaso in the hospital leaves them desolated. As night falls, a lavish party offers temporary distraction but also reveals the couple's growing estrangement. Giovanni is captivated by the host's charming daughter, while Lidia, consumed by grief, dances with a stranger. Their paths connect and diverge in a swirl of melancholic introspection.
