Le calvaire de Dona Pia (1925)

Poor Dona Pia is separated from her husband whose madness has led him to a lunatic asylum. In compensation, she showers her son Paquito with affection. Unfortunately the terrible heredity strikes Paquito in his turn. He becomes insane but not before he forces his mother, prepared to do everything to save him, to commit perjury.
