On June 20, 1791, the atmosphere at the Tuileries is tense and feverish. Conspiracies, secrets and slipped bills are the order of the day for the royal family, who can no longer express themselves freely. Marie-Antoinette and her friend Axel de Fersen have been planning their escape for a year. They have managed to convince Louis XVI and set the departure date for the night of the summer solstice. Madame de Tourzel, governess to the children of France, two chambermaids and three reliable men are to accompany the royal family, while the palace hairdresser and the Duc de Choiseul are to prepare the route and ensure the protection of the fugitives by the hussars. By midnight, everyone is ready. But as soon as they set off, the fugitives fall behind, getting lost in the Tuileries. After a few adventures, however, they reach the carriage waiting for them at the gates of Paris. But this one doesn't go unnoticed: yellow and green, pulled by six horses, it's harnessed like a royal carriage. Inside are the King, the Queen, Madame Elisabeth, the King's sister, the children and their governess. Their destination, Lorraine.
