The Four Stairs (1951)

Orphaned since the tender age of three and taken in by her uncle's family, kind-hearted Rena Doxa leads a modest and loveless life. Surrounded by wealth in a lavish estate, impecunious Rena summons up the courage to leave home and Dimitris Grenas, the suave man of her dreams, bent on finding a better future in Athens, and spread her wings; however, this is easier said than done. Before long, after one disappointment too many, young Rena decides to take matters into her own hands, and as a result, she lands a job as a chauffeur. Now, Rena can seize the moment and enjoy life, unbeknownst to her that Dimitris is still waiting for her at the beautiful house he's built for her. Will Rena ever know that true love awaits at the villa's four marble stairs?
