Lake Placid (1999)

In Maine's Black Lake, Officer Jack Wells from Fish and Game partners with NYC Paleontologist Kelly Scott to solve the puzzle of a terrifying underwater assault. While undertaking the dangerous mission, they encounter competition from Sheriff Hank Keough, a mythology professor, and a strange resident of the area, who are all enthusiastic about discovering the elusive predator. The dangerous animal living in the quiet pond and craving human flesh heightens the race's urgency.
