Almighty Fred (1996)

Imagine starting your own religion to make a little spare cash and having it work beyond your wildest dream. Brothers, Fred and Barry Paulson live in Venice Beach, California. They are out of luck and money. Fred is the ultimate sleazy scammer and Barry is a pathetic self help junkie. Out of financial desperation, they cook up a religion based on donuts. Their motto is "See the Donut, Not the Hole". Soon, their little scam is MTV-ized and hits the big time. Fred starts believing that he's the god of their religion for all the wrong reasons and Barry has to gain personal strength and rescue his deranged brother from their creation.
