A Carefree Nut (1971)

Bent on emigrating illegally to the United States of America, or the Promised Land, according to him, the impecunious toiler, Thanassis, has only managed to accomplish one thing: get back to square one after each failed attempt. One day, to lend him a helping hand, his wise neighbour, Nikiforos, mentions a certain "Thanassis" who can make his dream come true; however, to find the elusive benefactor, Thanassis must first abandon his former happy-go-lucky lifestyle. But, instead, Thanassis has a chance encounter with the desperate young woman, Elpida, and just like that, his life takes an unexpected turn. Will carefree Thanassis finally find happiness?
