Pod orlovoto gnezdo (1930)

After completing his military service, Angel returns to his native village. Angel and beautiful Rada are in love. Gancho, the deformed son of a wealthy man, is seized by jealousy. He pours poison into the jug of Angel but his younger brother stumbles and breaks the jug. Rada's mother wants to give her daughter to Angel but her father discusses the future engagement with Gancho. Their new scheme is put into effect - they set Angel's house in fire. Angel carries his brother out of the burning building with difficulty. After that, he starts building a new house. Harvest time. Rada starts for the spring. Gancho attacks her. Gancho tries to stab his rival with a knife but Angel kills him in self-defense. On false evidence, the young man is thrown into goal. Rada goes to the nunnery. Time passes. Angel has served his sentence. On the way home, he sees a cart being pulled by a team of frightened horses. The young man saves his enemy - the rich father of Gancho. The grateful man gives him a horse. Angel mounts the horse and after a wild gallop arrives in the nunnery. Rada is getting ready to become a nun. The preparations for ceremony of taking the veil are being concluded. The Mother Superior gives them her blessing.
