According to her accusers, the "greatest spy of the 20th century" was responsible for the death of thousands of men. She loved furs, clothes, men in uniform - Intelligent, cultivated, she spoke five languages. Reason enough, at the time, for her to be seen as the devil in the guise of a woman - For almost a century, Mata Hari embodied for most people the image of the femme fatale. The authors of this documentary are telling Mata Hari's real story, the story of Margaretha Zelle. To accomplish this they used irrefutable sources : Mata Hari's personal photo albums and the interrogations carried out by Captain Bouchardon, which were used as evidence in her trial. For the first time, Mata Hari tells her story in her own words.
