Forgive Me, Mother (1973)

The widowed Mrs Lee lives with her father-in-law, daughter, and two married sons. Her father-in-law opposes his granddaughter's college education and refuses to assist with the tuition. Mrs Lee borrows money from a disreputable man. He begins spreading rumors about Mrs Lee that result in her getting kicked out of her home by her father-in-law.
