In 1998, with his film "Algeria, life anyway", Djamila Sahraoui returned to his native village of Kabylie to tell the wanderings of young people, between waiting and disillusion. Three years later, in this small town left to fend for itself, the miracle happened: young people decided to take their lives into their own hands and mobilize the inhabitants to get the streets improved. In the city of Martyrs in full renovation, on crosses a whole gallery of attached characters. The streets of the city are a theater where the inhabitants of the district meet. Everyone plays the game in front of the camera of one of the young people. Young people capture goldfinches to make pocket money, stroll or chat with old people on their doorsteps. Others are busy building sidewalks, repainting the facades of houses blue or planting an alley of plane trees. The word is free to tell the daily life of this city: "there are only hens, old and old. " Others complain, do not take off in the face of a government which, according to them, abandons them: " everyone is unemployed. This pays one past the reverse gear. And for a long time, he no longer knows how to go forward... "
