The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

The Tenenbaums had three extraordinary and unique children, yet when Royal divorces and abandons his family, things begin to shift and over the course of twenty years, his children are far from any idealised adulthood. When Royal reappears, however, he claims to be ill, just as his ex-wife is about to remarry, with the whole family gathered together again. This Wes Anderson comedy has a brilliant script, a wonderful soundtrack and terrific performances from a stellar cast.
