Mujer de cabaret (1991)

Famous, successful cabaret singer Alicia Conde is about to marry Octavio and quit her career. But this Octavio turns to be a gambler and in a few months he loses all the family's fortune. Alicia decides to return to the cabaret and sing again. The cabaret owner Don Lalo wants her to be his lover, and his girlfriend Elena finds out about it and kills him and makes people--and the police--think that Alicia did it. Alicia is imprisoned and must figure out how to prove that she's innocent. The only proof is a VHS with the record of the murder, and it was stolen from Elena by her ex-lover. Alicia goes through beatings and humiliation, takes drugs, and finally faces Elena and her ex-lover to get the proof of her innocence.
