Just off the East Coast of Crete, a mere seven hundred meters away, lies the hauntingly isolated islet of Spinalonga. From 1903 to 1958, this desolate land served as a last refuge for those living with Hansen's disease, a place of exile from the world. Amid the whispered stories of despair, a young and idealistic doctor, Stathis Chtenas, finds himself at a crossroads. After months of fruitless research and constant rebellion from his patients, the weight of Stathis' struggles threatens to shatter his already fragile mental state. But when hope seems lost, a spark ignites in the shape of Angela, a passionate volunteer doctor. Her arrival sets in motion a transformative journey as she joins forces with Stathis to persuade the Ministry of Health to shut down Spinalonga--the dreaded Island of Silence. Can two young idealists make a difference in a place steeped in sorrow?
