Giannis Who Became Johnny (1986)

Kostas, a struggling furniture maker and conscientious brother, is with his back to the wall. On the one hand, business is slow, while on the other hand, he must meet a pressing deadline to provide his unwed sister Katina with a 3-million-drachma dowry. But the task is challenging, almost impossible. Then, when all hope seemed lost, Kostas' wealthy expatriate brother Giannis arrives in Athens with his American wife Margaret and their dog in tow. At last, Kostas' prayers are answered; now, his brother will pitch in to marry off their sister to a local store owner. However, a lot has changed since Giannis' relocation to the United States. Under unfavourable circumstances, can Kostas expect help from Giannis, who became Johnny?
