Mona Lisa Smile (2003)

It is 1953 and Katherine Watson is attending Wellesley College as a professor of art history. Despite her free spirit, she tries to fit in at the all-female institution, but finds that doing just what they expect is the worst choice. When she encourages their critical thinking and promotes female independence, the reactionary sectors of the university jeopardize her permanence. The great casting of actresses elevates the film with their charm and makes the whole story work.
